Chemistry for 8th-9th Grades: Water for health – Water Purification

You and the entire class become scientists for a few hours and perform experiments in a real-life laboratory

The activity includes introduction to home water-purification systems. We will perform experiments to test the changes occurring in tap water passing through the home filter. We will also become familiar with different types of filters and experiment with their mechanism of action.

This activity emphasizes research skills: making observations; identifying factors that can influence the phenomenon; planning an experiment; measuring and measurement accuracy; documenting observations in a table; drawing conclusions.
