Playground Science
What does a carousel have to do with science? Is the soap bubble always round? And what are the colors that make up the rainbow? Experiential activity for grades 1-3
Children spend quite a bit of time in the playground, but did you know that so do many scientific phenomena and laws? To discover, explore, and understand them, we need to look at them a little more closely.
This activity introduces the issues through a guided interactive tour of the various exhibits in the Science Park, where the children are exposed to these fascinating scientific phenomena and experience them in an inviting, fun-filled way.
The children will feel the forces operating on us as we walk around the carousel, understand what affects the balance of a swing, and learn about sound waves.
In addition, we will look at the properties of soap water and even make a soap bubble dispenser.
All activities are facilitated by Science Park instructors.
