Marvelous Math

Who was Fibonacci? What is infinity? And why is Pie so pivotal? Join us in taking a few first steps into the world of mathematical thinking

Children's first years in school introduce them to an intense learning atmosphere that requires concentration and effort. At the same time, their natural curiosity is still at its peak while complex and challenging tasks have yet to become intimidating. This makes children of this age bold and brave, and most are open to ideas their immediate environment, including their school, usually dare not present to them.

This class offers children the opportunity to be gradually ushered into the intriguing world of mathematical thinking. Complex mathematical ideas are presented in simple, tangible ways, making it easy for each child to learn, understand, and ask questions.

Classes are designed to illustrate how delving into complex mathematical topics can be wonderfully engaging. The children try their hand at fractions and equations, and find easy and natural ways to formulate and solve equations based on verbal content. The class also tackles thinking problems together and in the process, discovers surprising methods and approaches for dealing with familiar issues.

The class dedicates a special place for developing the children's ability to formulate and justify claims. Coping with wording difficulties helps children develop a mature and responsible approach to learning, sharpens their thinking skills, and deepens understanding. We aspire to teach the children that thinking is fun!
