It's All in Our Head

What happens in our bodies when we are sad, happy or just bored, and who controls it? Join us as we venture into the fascinating realm of the human brain.

Have you ever wondered why hot chocolate is sweeter than cold chocolate, why little kids have better hearing than adults, or why we feel joy, sadness and other emotions? The answers to these questions and many others are literally in our heads.

The brain is the body's command and control center. It is responsible for our ability to move, and for our sense of sight, hearing, and touch. The brain processes the vast amounts of information it absorbed through our senses, thus turning it into memories, thoughts, emotions, and imaginations.

This class explores the nervous and sensory systems, tries to figure out whether the male and female brains work in the same way, and looks at how our brains create memories. We also explore what happens in the brain when we feel lonely or sad, love or anger.

During the class, we will introduce innovative methods in brain research and talk about the latest developments and discoveries in the field.

Join us for a series of fascinating lectures, discussions, activities, experiments and tours of the brain research labs at the Weizmann Institute of Science, where participants have the opportunity to meet scientists involved in cutting-edge brain research, and converse with them firsthand.
