Flying into Space
What would happen if the Earth did not revolve around the sun? What are sound waves? And why are they silent in space? Experiential activity for children in grades 4-6
The sun affects us in many ways and Earth is home to many complex systems that are based on solar energy. These systems allow all living things to exist, including plants, animals and, of course, humans. Even the seasons are an example of the direct impact the sun has on Earth.
During this activity, the children are introduced to the solar system and the conditions that allow life on Earth. A guided interactive tour of the Science Park further introduces them to rotational movement, sound waves, and the mysteries of sunlight.
At the end of the tour, the children will participate in a hands-on workshop.
All activities are facilitated by Science Park instructors.
