The Dance of Numbers

What mathematical principles stand at the heart of dance steps, and how does probability produce order? Join us as we explore the math behind the movement.

In this workshop, we will explore the unintelligible relationship between mathematics and numbers, and dance and movement. We will see, for example, how movements are based on important mathematical principles such as cyclicality or symmetry.

Using the simple movements of dance and exercise, we will get to know new and interesting ideas. We will also get to know Pie – a very special number – by dancing in a circle, and learn how probability, like dance, creates order out of chaos.
