A Shavuot Celebration in the Garden of Science

Can water flow against gravity? Can dough be both solid and liquid? And can a glass of water empty itself? Three days of activities and special workshops for Shavuot

The Clore Garden of Science museum is delighted to invite you to celebrate Shavuot with us, with fun scientific activity for the whole family.

Enjoy a guided tour of the Garden of Science and two scientific workshops about the holiday’s distinctive phenomena and ingredients:

  • Encounter waves of all types, create swirls and bubbles, and discover how a single screw can lift water and raise it high up on the tour of the Garden of Science exhibits
  • Investigate the origins of flour and different types of dough in the “Fun-Full Flour” workshop
  • Experience hands-on the flow of water and understand how it relates to pressure differentials in the “Water, Joyfully Yours” (Mayim B'sason) workshop

The activities take place between 9am and 4 pm in the open air across the Garden of Science, according to the following schedule:

9:30-10:15 – Guided tour of the Garden of Science
10: 30-11: 30 – Flour and water workshops
11: 30-12: 30 – Flour and water workshops
12: 30-13: 15 – Guided tour of the Garden of Science
14: 00-15: 00 – Flour and water workshops
15: 00-15: 45 – Guided tour of the Garden of Science

Discounts: 10% discount for online orders; 50% discount for senior citizens, students, and persons with disabilities; children under 5 years – free



Participation in the activity is conditional upon ticket purchase through the website only. All discounts require the presentation of appropriate documentation at the Garden’s entrance.
