Celebration of Mind 2017: In memory of Martin Gardner
Come join us on October 19th for an open event full of riddles, puzzles, brainteasers and magic. If you have a particularly difficult or unsolvable puzzle - we want to hear about it!
Here's a challenge for you: Take a piece of paper and fold it. Then, cut the folded paper along a straight line, so that when you unfold the paper you get a hole in the shape of the Star of David... and just to make it a little bit harder, do it in less than two minutes.
Have we captured your attention?
This annual meeting celebrates the birthday of Martin Gardner, an American math and science writer who contributed so much over the last century to make mathematics more accessible to the general public. At this event you will find many more mathematical puzzles, games and magic. This is one of the events of the International “Celebration of Mind” Festival organized by the G4G Foundation (Gathering 4 Gardner), which aims to promote the legacy of Martin Gardner, encouraging and inspiring fun and wonder for recreational mathematics, magic, puzzles and art. A special event to mark the birthday of Gardner takes place, simultaneously, all over the world.
The general public, of all ages, and especially fans of puzzles and logic games.
