Fun with Physics
What do the fluctuations of water in a tank have in common with surges in your home's electricity grid and what does all of it have to do with music? Join us for an exciting first glimpse into the wonderful world of physics
Waves are an important and wide-ranging scientific phenomenon that affects all areas of life, such as communication, transport, industry, medicine and more.
Did you know, for example, that we are constantly surrounded by waves? Lights, sounds, vibrations in bodies of water and on the home electrical grid, and more. What do all of these phenomena have in common? What sets these different types of waves apart? And how do we use them? This class answers these questions and many others.
This unique class takes a closer look at the different types of waves floating all around us through activities, experiments, construction, and research. The class explores the different types of waves and their distinct characteristics. We will use different instruments to produce and change waves and even use them to create various musical instruments.
