While many countries have a long tradition of engaging in science communication, producing a range of popular science publications, and carrying out academic and professional training in the field, science journalism is a relatively neglected field. The Center for Science Communication at the Davidson Institute aims to address this incongruity, both by training journalists so they can report on science accurately and accessibly, and by expanding the depth and breadth of science media outlets. Davidson's ‘Sci-Com’ Center includes an editorial group that manages the website, and sponsors conferences, professional workshops, and collaborations with Israeli media platforms, from radio and television channels to websites, magazines, and newspapers. The head of this center is Dr. Zvia Elgali. |
