iScientist

Get your students interested in cutting-edge science by inviting leading researchers to your class for a video conference.

Do students ever ask you, “What is science good for?” or “Why do we need to learn this?” The iScientist program enables you to get your students interested in cutting-edge science, pique their curiosity, and link the study material to current, groundbreaking research.

The program allows science teachers in elementary, middle and high schools to invite pioneering researchers working on contemporary science projects to hold an informal video conference with their students. The students are encouraged to ask questions about anything they find intriguing in that field, and the experience opens up new worlds for them and introduces them to new role models.

The program includes:

  • Online tutorials for science teachers.
  • Video conference with a researcher.
  • Suggestions for an introductory lesson ahead for the video conference, with the aim of piquing the students' curiosity and encouraging them to ask questions.
  • Pedagogical and technical support.
