Gila has a Master's degree in utilizing computers for the development of educational programs from the School of Education at Tel Aviv University. She has acquired vast pedagogical experience in over 25 years of training development, characterization and development of e-learning environments for a wide range of institutions; formal and informal educational programs, businesses and the IDF.

Gila has developed courses and professional training for managers, information specialists and educators at the Center for Educational Technology (CET), and has engaged in guiding and training teachers, as well as, supporting and mentoring pedagogical teams in schools at the Ministry of Education.

Gila has directed the training development field in the Training with Technology Unit of the IDF Israeli Ground Forces. She served as an expert consultant of the training division in the IDF Air Force on the subjects of e-teaching and e-learning. During this position, she developed and wrote the “MUFLA” model, a model for interactive training development, for the development of computer-mediated communication products, as well as led development processes in the training bases of the Air Force while guiding the professional teams.

Between 2012-2016 Gila directed the “KATOM” computer program at the Davidson Institute of Science, which engages in guidance and several year-long professional development of teachers in innovative technology integrated pedagogy in learning-teaching environments in which every student and teacher has a personal laptop computer. The program is applied in junior high school, high school and in educational colleges of all sectors of the population. 

Since 2017 Gila has established and is directing the Training Unit at the Davidson Institute of Science Education.
